Here are the top three stories from Round Rock today:
- The Round Rock Police Department (RRPD) confirmed yesterday that they located 31-year-old Timothy Perez on March 5, 2022, and the APD case has been closed. The RRPD now has a missing persons investigation for Perez, who has not been seen since the March 5 encounter. Perez was last seen at Round Rock near the intersection of I-35 and W. Parmer Lane. The RRPD asks the public to call 9-1-1 immediately if they see Perez or have information on his whereabouts. (Austin Governor of Texas)
- The Round Rock ISD black board salary increases approved for teachers, librarians and other staff at its meeting on Thursday. Under the approved compensation plan for 2022-23, teachers and librarians will receive a 4% raise. Administrative support and operations support staff will receive a 3% increase. And Educational Support, Technology, Instruction Exemption, Corporate Exemption, and Policing staff will receive a 2% raise. (KVIEW)
- While burglary rates have declined across much of the country, in youIn the Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown metropolitan area, the total number of burglaries increased by 10.5% between 2019 and 2020.. According to the FBI’s 2019 and 2020 Uniform Crime Reports, the area’s population-adjusted burglary rate is one of the highest of any metropolitan area in the United States. (The central square)
