Known as one of the safest and fastest growing places in the country, it’s no surprise that Milton has made it to the list of Canada’s “Best Small Towns”.

Although many people may remember Milton as a location for a school excursion, the town has now become a vibrant community with new developments constantly underway to expand even further, making it a popular place to live in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

With a population of 138,495 and many popular outdoor destinations such as Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area and Area 8 (formerly known as Kelso Quarry), the town is also home to Glen Eden, a velodrome and a operational blacksmith shop.

Although the city ranked eleventh on the list, it was ranked second in its population growth subcategory as it projects the population to double by 2031.

According to the list, Milton residents are the fourth most educated in Canada and rank fourth in creative class and employment rate.

The list also ranked Milton as the safest small town in Canada, with residents preferring to put their energy into infrastructure such as the Mattamy National Cycling Center or the town’s other recreation centers.

The City of Burlington was the only other municipality in Halton to make the list, placing seventh.
